My Hero Academia Manga Books in Order: Kohei Horikoshi’s MHA Series

My Hero Academia is a popular superhero manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. This manga series has been serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump manga magazine since 2014.

As of 2023, its chapters have been collected into 37 volumes. The hit manga series has numerous spin-off manga, such as My Hero Academia: Smash!!, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and My Hero Academia: Team-up Missions.

It has also been expanded into light novels, stage plays, and video games, and was adapted into a television show in 2016. Plans for a live-action film by Legendary Entertainment are in the making.

Kohei Horikoshi’s Biography

Kohei Horikoshi is a Japanese manga artist known for creating the My Hero Academia and Barrage manga series. Horikoshi was born and raised in Aichi Prefecture and formerly worked as an assistant for Yasuki Tanaka, creator of the manga series Summertime Rendering.

Growing up he was a fan of several manga series, such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece. He is also a massive fan of Marvel Comics.

Who is Izuku Midoriya?

Izuku Midoriya, also known by his superhero name Deku, is the main protagonist of the My Hero Academia manga series. He is a superhero and a first-year high schooler who is the current holder of “One For All,” a superpower which is an amalgamation of eight different superpowers.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a spin-off and prequel to Kohel Horikoshi’s manga series My Hero Academia. This manga series is written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court.

Its chapters have been collected into fifteen volumes. The English version of these volumes is currently being released and will conclude by 2023.

My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions

My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions is written and illustrated by Yoko Akiyama. Its chapters have been collected into four volumes. This spin-off follows Izuku Midoriya and his classmates as they are paired up with students from other hero schools to participate in specially-requested missions as part of the “Team-Up Missions Program.”

The first English version of the volume released in 2021 and the last volume is slated for release in late 2023.
