Five Nights at Freddy’s is a multimedia franchise. The book trilogy, written by Scott Cawthon and Kira Breed-Wrisley, is based on the video games of the same name created by Scott Cawthon.
It includes three horror and mystery novels that revolve around the protagonist, Charlotte Emily. The story takes place in Hurricane, Utah. Five Nights at Freddy’s has also been adapted into a film that will soon be released by Universal Pictures.

The creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s multimedia franchise, Scott Cawthon, born on June 4, 1978, is an American video game developer and writer.
He released the first installment of the Five Nights at Freddy’s video game franchise in 2014, a survival horror game that became immensely popular among gamers and developed a cult following in a short span of time.
From 2014 to 2021, Scott released a total of nine games in the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, plus three spin-offs. He is the author of the bestselling Five Nights at Freddy’s book trilogy.
He has also written many short stories about characters from the FNaF games. Scott Cawthon lives in Salado, Texas, with his family.
Who is Charlie?
Charlotte Emily is the protagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy’s book trilogy. She is the daughter of Henry and Emily, and she has a twin sister named Sammy.
Charlie is a sweet and kind-hearted teenager. Throughout the series, she proves to the readers that she is self-sufficient and can fight for herself.
Charlie is described as a young girl with a round face. She has rosy cheeks, light brown hair, wide brown eyes, and thin lips.
Charlie reunites with her friends in Hurricane, and they decide to visit Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a family restaurant where their friend Michael was killed 10 years ago.
After they break into the restaurant, a lot of terrifying incidents occur. Charlie’s past comes to haunt her and her friends.
There is also a dark secret associated with Charlotte’s identity that is revealed in The Fourth Closet.

1) The Silver Eyes (2015)
Scott Cawthon and Kira Breed-Wrisley’s debut novel, The Silver Eyes, is the first book in the Five Nights at Freddy’s trilogy. The book was digitally self-published in 2015 and available in printed form a year later. It was ranked No. 1 on The New York Times Best Seller list.
Charlotte Emily, now 17 years old, decides to visit her hometown, Hurricane, Utah. She and her friends later pay a visit to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a local family restaurant where her friend and four other children were killed 10 years ago.
Charlie’s father, Henry, designed the restaurant’s animatronic mascots and was a murder suspect. He committed suicide later. The four mascots that once entertained people now look entirely different.
They seem to hide some dark secrets and appear to have murderous intentions.
FNaF has spawned a cosplay culture involving its famous and not-so-famous characters.
2) The Twisted Ones (2017)
The second book in the trilogy, The Twisted Ones, is a sequel to The Silver Eyes. It was published on June 27, 2017.
One year after the events of The Silver Eyes, Charlie is attending St. Louis University and trying to live a normal life. Despite the huge changes, she is still experiencing nightmares of a masked murderer and the four animatronic mascots.
Just when she begins to think everything is over, her past comes to haunt her once again. Several bodies are discovered near her school building, bearing familiar wounds.
Charlie is certain that something sinister is hunting her down, and this time it won’t let her go.
3) The Fourth Closet (2018)
The third book in the Five Nights at Freddy’s trilogy, The Fourth Closet is a sequel to The Twisted Ones. It was published on June 26, 2018.
John has frequent nightmares of Charlie’s death and suspects that the Charlie he sees every day isn’t really her. John tries hard to forget the disturbing events that occurred at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, but the past cannot be forgotten so easily.
Meanwhile, a new animatronic pizzeria opens up in Hurricane, and there have been reports of kidnappings. John teams up with Charlie’s friends to rescue the missing children and find out what truly happened to Charlie.
He is determined to end the haunting legacy of Henry’s creations once and for all.

The stories in Tales from the Pizzaplex are novella-length and are based on the characters from the Five Nights at Freddy’s series.
The stories are created by Scott Cawthon, Kelly Parra, Elley Cooper, and Andrea Waggener. Each book contains three horror stories followed by an epilogue.
The first book, titled Lally’s Game, was published in July 2022. There are 9 books in the series; 5 have been released, and the remaining ones will be released in the future.
